You have to be shitting me.

No one in there right mind would make such a moronic statement as you have just done.

Haw it never occurred to you that not everyone on the "right" is as shallow as yourself?

I think there is still latent racism in America that was not known to be as acute until Obama was elected. I will always believe that the government shut down in 2013 and the fiasco of the debt ceiling debacle in 2011 would not have happened with a white President.

The Tea Party will disappear once there is a white President back in office...let me qualify that by saying white MALE president. Of course that might not happen for several elections.

And it kills me how the GOP hates Obama because of the ACA....
and I think one thing that no one has notices is that Obama has sort of resurrected the old Roosevelt coaliton.

You see the Tea Party GOP is lousy at building coalitons, which is great news for the good guys.

Chas
It has not occured to me that Tom is particularly shallow. He does appear to be particularly pissed-off, which is not a problem for me.

But Chas...shallow? Let not those who live in glass house of American neoconservatism be throwing stones.

That said...hey there Chas, where ya been?

OK...now that dealing with the nonsense often posted here is out of the way...

For members of the right who might be intellectually curious enough (probably surprisingly so) to really examine themselves, I see it as partially, certainly not completely, a reaction to the right's clear loss of the shifting demographics of the country's electorate.

The GOP has lost 5 of the last 6 popular Presidental vote contests. I see nothing on the horizon to suggest that they can win the next one based upon the probable choices of candidates. Thoughtful conservatives must be aware of this, and of Obama's part in generating enough interest to attract even more young Americans into actually registering and voting. And the great majority of those Americans aren't buying into the narrow interests of neoconservatives in general, or the pandering to them and to teabag populists of the GOP.

It is the right's simple, unquestioning devotion to the welfare of the 1% that turns me off. Do they really believe the Koch brothers are spending all that money out of pure ideology for the sole benefit of the country? I have known a lot of poor people in my lifetime, hell I grew up in the Depression, and I cannot honestly say they were lazy and expected others to support them. The did the best they could to the limit of their abilities. In tody's job market there are so many myths for them to run up against they may have two strikes against them before they even start. I don't have a GED and I can't even count the number of times that I never made it past HR. Yet the ironic part is that when I took early retirement to have money to support my ex-wife, once the word was out that I was available the job offer and an immigration lawyer came from NoVa within two weeks, that is the reason I am down here because I could then afford to make a home for Florence and myself. That lawyer cost him $2500 for the H1B and later me $1200 when I went for my green card.

But all we ever hear from the right iis that BS about welfare queens or drug testing for welfare or voting fraud, yet rarely has an actual case been brought and won.

Does Obama and company's continued subsidization of the 1% turn you off as well?
