And North America including Canada was made safe.

It is not all black and white Erik

At least you border the USA ...I can imagine worse neighbors

I remember the local news in Ohio showing a sign on the US-Canadian border near Niagara Falls that said "Thanks Neighbor!!!" when the hostages were released in 1981. I asked my Dad why we were thanking Canada "......when it was Reagan that got them released?" He smiled at me and chuckled a little as he said, "You don't really believe that crap, do you?"

America has a great neighbor to the north, we are truly fortunate in that regard. It's some of the B.S. artists on THIS side of the border we need to stop listening to.

Doesn't really matter who owns them, what matters is who runs them.

And that's generally whoever can write the biggest check.

It really is a great agreement. Tensions get ratcheted down, and Iran gives up any designs on a nuclear weapon. They can only enrich to the point of using it for energy, no where near enough for weapons.

Its' success or failure remains to be seen. I hope it works.

Love the goodwill gesture too.

Sometimes, it's the little gestures that count.

It was just over a year and a half ago the media - and some on this forum - were all fired up about the brilliant stroke of diplomacy behind an agreement between North Korea and the USA that would have the North Koreans freeze their nuke enrichment program and suspend nuke testing in exchange for US food aid. Two months later, NK attempted to launch a long range missile over the Sea of Japan. In Feb 2013, NK claimed to have conducted an underground nuke test. In Sept 2013, WaPo runs an article, based on the findings of a nuke scientist at MIT, that NK is now capable to manufacturing everything it needs to support its nuke program "in house", without having to rely on any foreign-made technology, suggesting that this makes NK's nuke program effectively "sanction proof". Of course, it also puts NK in a position to be able to export its nuke program technology...to states like Iran, for example.

Yes, I know Iran is not NK. It does, however, serve to remind us that the track record of diplomacy with belligerent states isn't all that great.

Our attempts at using military force haven't worked out so well since WW2 either.

Now have they?
