Actually, the Oneida nation has chosen to take the lead in this fight. Personally, I'm indifferent about it. Then again, I'm not a Native American. If Notre Dame changes its name to the Drunken Micks or Paddy's, I might object, however.

Revisit post #49 for a good example of how blackface was often used. In actuality "blackface" in itself reeks of racism and indeed only existed because of racist attitudes.

Of course I can't.
But I don't subscribe to the notion that anything which can be found offensive should be banished.
Personally, I think that people read more into things than what is actually there.
