Yeppers. Don sounds like he may be another honorable Republican who's party has left him wondering what the hell is going on with the GOP these days. No offense intended, Don.

I may be all wet and you're a flaming haired liberal like me.

Forty three fruitless votes to defund Obamacare, (at $50 mil per vote) and now we have a Tea Party (mini minority) forced shutdown of government?

It sets a precedent, Pete.

I can see the Dems utilizing it when the shoe is on the other foot.
Of course, you and I will probably be long dead and buried before the Repubs get control of the Senate and the White House after this kerfuffle.

If you follow a strategy that makes it impossible for constitutional government to function, you risk it's destruction.

It's a game of chicken because as the defunded government heads towards the edge of the cliff, the 'game' is who's going to cave in to keep it from going over?

My conservative days are far behind me now. The walk leftwards sometimes goes in smaller steps, sometimes bigger, but it continues....

I used to consider myself a conservative Democrat but the goalposts keep getting moved on me. Now my friend and fellow tubehead Whell thinks I'm a commie.

Thank God they didn't fold at the last hour. It's how our government is set up man, checks and balances. If we didn't have a Republican house they would be passing more stoopid stuff like Obama care which will never work. All they can do is stop them, but that's ok for now.

At what cost, man. Furloughing 800,000 employees and potentially putting the economy into a flat spin via the debt limit fight doesn't sound like an OK plan by my lights.

The ACA is a fact of life since the Supreme Court validated it and none of these games will change anything in regards to it's implementation. It's funded and up & running.

Funny, stopping gov't for a couple weeks and the economy is going to die, but seriously mess with 17% of the economy during a downturn, good?

And Bob, you're not?
