I think we could all find a lot of common ground around the suggestion that Heath Ledger gave an other-worldly performance as The Joker. He did not win his Oscar with a sympathy vote.

YES! I spend time in the hood with old friends who never left (you grow up there, you're comfortable there. They wouldn't dream of moving).
And Cleveland could've been a model of the Lefts' wet dream. And it's dead.
They (the ones who 'help') would be better off spending the money on more cops.

Wonderful, amazing. I watch that movie fairly often (the omnimax camera quality sure doesn't hurt any!). Too bad he did himself in, no more of him

How's that? Ignorance of the people with their hands out? Ignorance is curable through schooling, and we have the best schooling that money can buy, so why are these folks so ignorant?
We pump more and more money into schools and still the cry goes out, "We need to put more money and aids towards solving the problem."

This is the best point I've seen you make here. Good point. I agree to some extent. Medicade/Medicare and Social Security are very expensive and real issues we need to address. The only attempt I've seen made to address any of them at all was in the health care legislation. I'm afraid now that is not going to happen.
You'll have to be more specific about what programs you're talking about exactly before I could comment much further. But as I've said many times, military spending, Social Security, Medicade and Medicare are roughly 75% of the federal budget. If we're going to address our issues as a nation this is where we're going to look. Anything else is grandstanding and not getting much done. Like a family about to lose their home saying "well, maybe we could start buying the generic cereal". It'll save money. But it won't help.

Yeah, but if you have to explain a joke it isn't much of a joke.
