If you look real close, you can see that all entries are credited to the reporting newspapers.
They can be easily verified.

LOL! Yes. Our local rag, the only real paper in Ohio, has recently cut home delivery to 3 days a week. The writing may be on the wall, but it won't be on the newsprint much longer

Frankly, I really don't give a crap if the NRA gun nuts buy all the shotguns and pistolas they want, as long as they keep them at home with the proper safety protocals in place. MikeG or Finnbow can easily explain what those are if anyone is wondering. What is inexcusable is the easy availability of CC permits and the raft of legislation fostered by those maniacs at ALEC, the legislative thinktank of the NRA and their sugardaddies. Look into that group if you're really worried about losing your precious freedoms.

Poisons in the home cause more death and injury to friends and faimly than intruders also. 87 people per day in the U.S. die from unintentional poisoning. Unintentional gun deaths average 2 per day.
Unintentional poisoning deaths increased 160% in the last decade.
Poisoning ranks #2 as the cause of unintentional death, beat out only by motor vehicles.
Drug overdose death rates have more than tripled since 1990.
This gun crap is all about politics and fear, and nothing to do with reality.

Just being a wiseacre, Pete. I'll bet those newsrags are all online, if the Koch brothers haven't already shuttered them.

Same ol Same ol. The real Americans want background checks for everybody and the NRA spins it into Obama is eliminating your right to own and is coming for your guns for their sheeple who obviously can't tell the difference.

Sure is strange, isn't it Carl? The wingnuttery goes ballistic on cue, every time. Even when the much ballyhooed NRA members, the rank and file, overwhelmingly support background checks...go figure.

Was, there have been about 30,000 gun deaths per year for the past 5 years running.
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_many_g..._US_every_year
That's the equivalent of ten 9-11 attacks per year. Accordingly, there have been over 100 times as many killed by gun violence in this country than have been killed by terrorists since 9-11. In fact, there have been nearly 2000 times as many people killed by gun violence in the US last year (~30,000) as there have been US citizens killed by terrorism worldwide ( 17). Yet, we are willing to spend $ trillions and to curtail civil liberties to fight terrorism, but won't even pass a background check for a terrorist who wants to buy a gun at a gunshow or over the Internet. Explain that to me.
