Some of yous are chart-challenged
We were drawing down Iraq before Obama assumed office. Perhaps McCain would've gotten what we wanted from Iraq, perhaps not.

McCain is on record for saying we should stay in Iraq for decades....

We would still be there now if we weren't asked to leave.

Another base close to Iran presumably.

Because war spending was kept "off budget" while Bush was in office. You don't remember the claims of how "revenues from Iraqi oil" were supposed to pay for the war?
How'd that work out?
And, yes the right DOES complain about paying for wars. They complain about paying for ANYTHING. Even the stimulus money they were more than glad to accept...........................
But, I suppose you have forgotten all of that too?

You have to know that such a claim is horse shit. While it is true that there wasn't a separate line item in the Federal Budget called "Iraq War", the war in Iraq was prosecuted within the budget of the Department of Defense.
Perhaps you've forgotten the very public threats of Harry Reid to torpedo Iraq War spending during that time. If the War was truly "off budget" (whatever the hell that really means), how would Mr. Reid possibly find his way to the dollars to block the spending?

I only wish he had been more successful. Like, say, cut it ALL off the day before deployment. Then, maybe we wouldn't be in as big a mess today........
