This is S.O.P. for the Left, anyone on the right is attacked and made to look like a fool but America as a whole sees right through it and thats why the Right will once again be back in power. The Left gets the big seat from time to time then its back to common sense ideas, this country has and will always be a center Right population.

...An' of course, there's always THIS reason to feel Warm 'n' Fuzzy about Bawlmer..."You say you came to Baltimore from Ole Miss, a class of Seven-Four gold ring...The eastern moon is ready for a wet kiss, to make the tide rise again"......Buncha Atlanta boys wrote that one...Ahh, memories of an earlier happy time...

I've heard it's really hard to solve a crime in Floyd, because there's only two types of DNA in the whole county.

That California boy, Randy Newman, had a somewhat somber take on the city.
Beat-up little seagull
On a marble stair
Tryin' to find the ocean
Lookin' everywhere
Hard times in the city
In a hard town by the sea
Ain't nowhere to run to
There ain't nothin' here for free

In all honesty, upper NE Tennessee was not exactly a hotbed of Confederate leanings...Knoxville missed staying w/the Union by one vote...There wasn't much slavery up here, and what there was, the slaves were primarily household servants, cooks, maids. In my town one building on one side of the street served as the Union headquarters-the building on the opposite side was the Confederate one-and well into the 20th century people would walk on which side of the street their sympathies lay with. Me, being the classic Ticket-Splitter, I'll walk one side one day, & the other the next...

Mountain people really had no stake in the fight either way. Mostly they just wanted to be left alone to get on with their lives. That's pretty much why West Virginia split off from the rest of the state and why Western Marylanders never sympathized with the South.
Good, no nonsense Scots Irish and German stock.
