What gets me is that guys like this & Palin are proof THE SYSTEM WORKS, yet because they are conservatives & don't pay proper fealty to the great lib shibboleths, they are persecuted/chastised no end...If Palin or this guy were Dems, they'd both been on the covers of Time & Newsweek both several times, hailed as bigger things than The Second Coming. An' I don't care what y'all say, I'd much rather see Sarah than either The Aging Hollow-Eyed Hippie from Haight-Ashbury, or Sen. "Jeez, I need a dose of Prunes, Big-Time Bad.." Reid...(grin)

Sandy, Palin and Beck have been on the covers of Time and Newsweek and they have been promoted as major forces in American politics and culture. I think it's time the Right Wing just quit pretending that they're such outcasts and never get a fair shake in the media. That hound never could hunt and now it can't even find its way out of the kennel.

Nancy Pelosi is actually a Mayor's daughter from Baltimore who grew up in the middle of big city politics. She has great chops. That's why she drives you guys nuts. Harry Reid, well lemme tell ya, Sandy, the Left ain't so thrilled with him either.

Why, thank you, Sandy. As a Baltimoron, I'm delighted to learn what a high opinion you have of me and my home town.

Now, would you like to hear my opinion of Appalachian hillbillies? By the way, when y'all get divorced down there is your ex-wife still your sister? Never been clear on that.

John

PS: Since my brother used to live in Floyd, VA I feel qualified to express myself on this issue.

Actually, I liked Bawlmer...Then we stopped at someplace called the Maryland Crab House-My parents had been goin' on & on about how wonderful Crab Cakes were..I bit into one, & PTUI ! Damthing was FULL of shell pieces...Floyd, huh ? The definition of a "Virgin" there is 1) An incredibly ugly girl; 2) One who is under 8 yrs old; or 3) Can outrun her brothers...An' they passed a law that once you get divorced, you don't hafta be kin to yr sister anymore. You DO have to give up visitation rights to th' Hound Dawgs, tho......I STILL love the story that came out of Monroe County-down in the SE corner, adjacent to N.C. & Georgia, about the candidate for Sheriff who accused his opponent of being a "Practicing Homo Sapiens"...Stuff THAT good, even I can't make up....(grin) That's alrite, tho. You Damyankees just keep on comin' back to Gatlinburg, Dollywood, Rock City, all them places, & spendin' yor Green Money...You can laugh at us all you want...Mbwahahahahahaha..

Two places I know well. My wife's from Baltimore. As for Floyd, it's home to one of the best bluegrass venues in the country, the Floyd Country Store. Friday nights there are great.

Well, that was funny enough so that I'll forgive you for trashing my home town..... again.

By the way, you do know that the Federals turn the cannon of Baltimore's harbor defenses on the city to prevent insurrection, right? You probably also know that at Camden Station, where the ball park is now, a mob of Baltimoreans attacked a contingent of Federal troops troops transiting through.

To be honest, I'm not exactly sure what Baltimoreans and Marylanders are but they ain't Yankees.

The mountain folks from Western Maryland were Yankees, but the farmers from the coastal parts of the state were Rebels. However, the state never seceded. It contributed troops to both the Union and Confederate armies, but larger numbers to the Union.

AC/DC, if you will.

And just to be clear, I've got a helluva lot of 'neck in me. My father's side of the family hails from Western Maryland, Southwestern Virginia and West Virginia.
