Pete, I would show myself to be prejudicied to say I am surprised to see us agreeing on some things lately, but part of the fun of this board is to find out where we have common ground despite our party affiliation. Don't worry, though, I'm still not to the point that I would vote for you if you ran for office.

And I don't think that wealth necessarily prevents one from having a social conscience. To use another camel metaphor today, and also paraphrase the scriptures, it is harder for a rich man to go to heaven that it is for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle. BTW, as I recall from the sermons, a needle was a sort of ancient corral gate that animals could pass through, but with some difficulty.

Regards,

D-Ray

Yeah, that's what I thought. You had me confused for a while there.

Heck, like John said on another thread we probably agree on a LOT.

But we like to argue Maybe we can all have a beer at the fest - if we can all decide on one!

OT, I just read 'Brit-think/Ameri-think' (about the different way we look at things), the author says we are a CONSENSUS society (amazing!), because the vast majority of Americans of all classes thinks that, while we disagree on some things, America is GREAT and has it basically right (don't burn down the system).

I don't know about that camel metaphor. It rings true and studies back it up!

And darn. I'm not running until I have your vote

Sorry, I'll be more clear in the future - rich people are wonderful and descend directly to heaven

Sure shows why the free trade agreements breeze through, doesn't it?

Pete

Now I'm amazed for the opposite reasons. I mean, I knew that the Congress was a "millionaires' club" but I had no idea of the extent to which that was true. Alcee Hastings is the "poorest" at around a half a mil.

Where did you think all the Pharma and Health Insurance money went?

It's not so much where heaven is but where rich people start out.

LMAO I almost passed by that one. Although the Lovely MILF Sarah might say that she has scientific studies showing why people go to heaven.

The lovely MILF Sarah.

Yep, think I'll put on fax in the hopes she's performing tonight.
