"And during the few moments that we have left
We wanna talk right down to Earth in a language that everybody here can easily understand

Look in my eyes, what do you see?
The cult of personality
I know your anger, I know your dreams
I've been everything you want to be
I'm the cult of personality
Like Mussolini and Kennedy
I'm the cult of personality
The cult of personality
The cult of personality

Neon lights, a Nobel prize
Than the mirror speaks, the reflection lies
You won't have to follow me
Only you can set me free

I sell the things you need to be
I'm the smiling face on your tv
I'm the cult of personality
I exploit you, still you love me
I tell you one and one makes three
I'm the cult of personality
Like Joseph Stalin and Gandhi
I'm the cult of personality
The cult of personality
The cult of personality

Neon lights, a Nobel prize
When a leader speaks, that leader dies
You won't have to follow me
Only you can set you free (?)

You gave me fortune
You gave me fame
You gave me power in your god's name
I'm every person you need to be
I'm the cult of personality (I'm the cult of, I'm the cult of)
I'm the cult of, I'm the cult of, I'm the cult of, I'm the cult of (I'm the cult of)
I'm the cult of, I'm the cult of, I'm the cult of, I'm the cult of personality (I'm the cult of)
Ask not what your country can do for you

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself"

Hmmmmm.....A comparison of Stalin and Ghandi or Mussolini and Kennedy?

No, I think it was merely to point out the abilty of those men to motivate people for better or worse. Not necessarily to say they shared any traits beyond that.

I love the song.

Dave

Thanks Dave but
just too ambiguous for me to handle

I pass by their used CDs at the thrift all the time...
I would rather buy a Journey cd.....lol
or Rush even
even
Toto or Asia lol
or Boston

that is one good thing about this thread
no one ever comes on and says hey I am listening to Journey.....lol

Their rendition of Hendrix's 'Burning of The Midnight Lamp' is killer!

I think Dave's right about those lyrics, Robbin. I wish they were still touring, I would go see 'em in a heartbeat.

Ok Bob I will let my hatred of In Living Color be put on hold for the moment. I also did not like their music seemed to lack melody.

On a lighter note I think I will make this sealed vinyl copy of Waiting For Columbus I just found into a nut bowel...
