Okay, my dog just farted. She's very old and what this means is that I'd better get her outside before she makes a mess.

Regards,
Dave

How about a sailing analogy? You've turned your bow directly into the wind and grounded on a shoal - ease off and tack, BS.

And... Well, all the other innocents who paid the price for a selfish, self centered gun culture.
Thank You Barbara, you put it better than I could.

That has to be the most disgusting post in this whole thread.

No surprises here in today's Wapo

The Pinocchio Test

A slashing attack like this has an especially high threshold to get its facts straight. The ad gives the impression that a phalanx of armed police are guarding students, such as the Obama and Gregory children, at Sidwell Friends.
But that is completely false. Far from being elitist, the relatively small force of unarmed security personnel at Sidwell is not unusual for a school of its size.
Moreover, the ad also suggests that Obama rejects out of hand boosting security at schools, when in fact his proposals include provisions that would provide funding for more school security.
If the NRA is also trying to count Secret Service protection for Obama’s children as part of that force of armed guards, that’s even more ridiculous. As we noted, such protection is mandated under federal law — and only exists for the president’s children.

So we pass an assault weapons ban, and a ban on large clips. And close the gun show loophole.

When these meaningless measures pass, what happens come next shooting? Oh well, we tried?

Out of the 3 the only thing I think is meaningful is the 3rd, instant background checks at gun shows. If they're not obtrusive, and if the rejection criterial are clearly defined.

So, what happens next shooting?

Confiscation/mandatory buy-back of combat weapons.
