We all have our customer service horror stories. Those stories have gravity and an individual who has a poor customer service experience tends to re-tell those stories to friends, neighbors, family, etc. Unfortunately its the good service stories that don't get retold as much. Many of us are predisposed to retell bad service stories more than the good service stories: sort of like how bad news tends to travel faster than good news.

That goes for government too.

I have had excellent service from the government with a few exceptions.

And I trust them far more than I trust a big multi-national corporation whose only concern is how much revenue they can wring out of me at the least cost to them.
