Looks like the State Dept and Intelligence folks called it a terrorist attack pretty consistently from the get-go. It looks like it was Obama who continued to insist on blaming the video. Why?

C'mon Whell. The president is correct in assuming that the video in question fomented this latest unrest. There was a neighbor to the Ansar-al-Sharia group that was quoted as saying he had heard from their members that they were upset about the video. Egyptian TV had been broadcasting and re-broadcasting the video for a week before the shit hit the fan. That is why a staffer tweeted that message in Cairo the morning before the demonstration. I'll make an assumption here that Benghazi is within the area of service of Egyptian TV and even if they are not that TV station can be viewed online.
To me, all of this conspiracy theorist's bullcrap is simply to provide cover for your candidate's terrible judgement in politicizing an attack on our Ambassador and his staff before the barest of facts were in, not too mention buried and mourned. Romney against all advice chose this course and his surrogates have been bleating this bullshit conspiracy theory to deflect criticism.
