You'll have to look to China for new coal fired plants, there are none under construction in the US.

The invisible hand is real. If solar was profitable it wouldn't need subsides. I've been watching (I have an all electric house). Once every business has panels on the roof you know it makes financial sense (it varies by region). Batteries are needed and still expensive too, though getting better.

Also cheer for nuclear, maybe fusion finally, waiting (and waiting and waiting) for ITER. We can mine the moon for fuel.
