Again with Washington Post. Have you read the full transcript? Because I just did, and in the context of the full interview I view your statement comparing his level of comprehension of major issues with Trump's as nothing less than a gross exaggeration.

This silly little portion of the WaPo article gives the whole thing away:

Daily News: And I’m going to look at 2014, which was the latest conflict. What should Israel have done instead?

Sanders: You’re asking me now to make not only decisions for the Israeli government but for the Israeli military, and I don’t quite think I’m qualified to make decisions.

They added the bold, to highlight his statement (not ideal worded, admittedly) that's he's not qualified to make decisions, even though that's clearly referring to the Israeli government and military. How can you take this nonsense seriously? Reading CNN's article about it (which is now plastered as the lead story on their front page) makes it sound like he's totally clueless as they cherry-picked many of the same statements and made it sound like he bumbled through the entire interview - which, again, he certainly did not.

I suppose the authors of these hit-pieces viewed this as a great opportunity since the original transcript is pretty long, and they probably rightly assumed most people wouldn't bother to read it.
