I suppose you have a point, it could be argued that Martin was not only standing his ground, but taking additional real estate while defending himself against a perceived deadly threat. Of course, at that point it could be argued that Zimmerman was also in fear of his life and was simply exercising his right to self defense.
SYG doesn't apply to Zimmerman in this case, since he was lying on the ground getting his head busted.
Another point I've considered bringing up is what about poor Zippy, what about HIS rights?
But I don't think I'll pursue that line of reasoning, for fear of only further inflaming the passions of the current lynch mob.

OK, So I stalk you, tell you I'm not stalking you, you move to where I cannot stalk you for your own safety so I come to that point to stalk you farther and you decide you need to defend yourself at this point as you have tried to avoid me but I persisted. What are my rights at this point? DO I have the right to kill you because I forced you to defend yourself?
Have you looked at picks of Zimmerman...he was far from having his head bashed in. Maybe a broken nose and a few very small scrapes.
