The El Nino is in full swing which usually means a very wet winter. Low pressure systems coming out of the northern Pacific stall when they get close to shore and sit there spinning off huge bands of rainstorms. Two days of deluge with a day in between one after the other. That shit gets pretty old when the ground is saturated and the hillsides start slipping.
