Voter ID laws

I just went to the election board website to confirm my voter registration. While I was there, I looked at the voter ID requirements. The voter ID law will require more workers at the polls; it puts an extra load on the DMV offices; there is a materials cost to provide free ID cards; and it costs more money to publish information about it. I thought the Republicans were supposed to be the party of financial responsibility. But they waste scads of taxpayer money to administer and enforce a law that, in light of the microscopic number if instances of actual voter fraud, is completely unnecessary. So much for the party of small government.

Regards,

D-Ray

Here in VA, we all recieved a letter telling us a picture ID is required. But, virtually ANY picture ID at all will do, so long as it bears your name and photo......

So, what's the point?
