Mississippi men, better keep that zipper UP!

Just when ya think you've heard it all........

https://www.wlbt.com/2025/01/22/miss...-erection-act/

"As written by Sen. Bradford Blackmon, the bill would make it “unlawful for a person to discharge genetic material without the intent to fertilize an embryo.”

There are also fines involved, the third strike resulting in the loss of $10,000 from the perpetrator."

Discutssed this a bit already. It's legislative satire introduced by a Democrat. Reaction to the way that's Republicans try to regulate women.

On the subject of Mississippi, this outstanding state now in news for a proposed law to set up bounty hunters to go after illegal immigrants. To go with that, I hear, is a law making trespassing while undocumented a crime punishable by life in prison without parole. Bless their hearts, they see a chance to bring back the 'black codes' method to implement slavery!

^^ I looked into this and setting aside the bounty hunter plan, its their tax cut plan that is astounding. Mississippi is the poorest state to begin with and now they are going to eliminate state income tax in stages over ten years and then also this.

Quote:
A House committee passed a major tax cut plan on Tuesday evening that would eventually abolish the state income tax, reduce taxes on groceries, increase local sales taxes and provide more money for road work.
Quote:
The plan also trims the 7% sales tax on groceries to 2.5% over time. Under current law, Mississippi’s 7% sales tax is split between the state and municipalities where the tax is collected. To shore up the loss, the legislation would end the state’s 18.5% sales tax diversion to municipalities, meaning the full sales tax collected will go to the state budget.
So the poor locals while funding the income tax cuts will be left with little to no revenue for local services needing to increase the local sales tax once again hurting the poor.

Not being hypocritical since our new home state is Nevada which has no state income tax. But Nevada has the magical city of Las Vegas which is a unique cash cow legally scalping millions of tourists (loser$ ) to no end. Even if one does not gamble, there is the quintessential head tax from hotel rooms.
