Tha Saudi Wahabi Salafists have always been a royal pita for everyone not them, and the US in particular. Strictly odious bedfellows of economic convenience.
Not playing a numbers game equivalency here, but what was the civilian death toll from bombing in Syria again? The death toll from the civil war to sacrifice the heritage of a once great country for the ego of one man?

I really don't like this. It takes us from indirect cooperation with Iran in Iraq and Syria to indirect conflict with them in Yemen.

I really didn't like OIF and this is part of that can of worms. Hasn't this, and things like it, been going on for quite some time?

Empires are complex things and the Persians have been at it for a lot longer than US.
