America sans Progressivism.

What would be lost, what would be gained?
What would it look like?
Would we recognise it?
Would we want to live in it?

America already is "Sans Progressivism".

Bernie Sanders was out last hope.

Nothing is ever the "last hope". I've been aware of Bernie for at least a decade and at no time did I think he had the potential to become what he has become. The "next Bernie" will appear unexpectedly just as Bernie did and as FDR did before him. And there is a potential that the movement that Bernie began will continue and grow. It may, in fact, spawn the next Bernie.

What I am afraid of is that if Clinton is elected her agenda will become the standard definition for "Progressivism" in America. And that's not progressive at all IMO.

Then what Bernie stands for will be called something else by those who espouse it. And it wouldn't be the first time that Progressivism was redefined.

I believe that Hillary will always be known as the candidate that the DNC rigged to get nominated and there will (or should) be an asterisk mark after her name when used in context of presidency. She is more a conservative than ever a progressive.

And I still find her more trustworthy as a guardian of Progressive policies than anyone the 'Pubs have run.
Trump specifically is just a self-aggrandizing bullshitter with zero credibility.

What a dead-ender. If I were living in south Alabama though, I might feel the same.
