This is exactly why Vietnam remains an emotional issue. Really, I wish this was something we could get past. But, so long as we have an MIC that successfully paints every objective look at military action as an unpatriotic act and/or an attack on the common soldier himself, nothing will change.
You CAN respect the troops and veterans, but be critical of the political powers who send them to war. In fact, they're lives depend on an objective and critical public.
