I think that poll is very scary. It does show a party in a somewhat fractured state but very definitely trending to the extreme right. This will only widen the chasm separating left from right and, with all the problems we have, that's a very bad thing.

On the other hand it could lead the GOP to self destruct and then we might get a real conservative party, not those effing neo-cons. You could carry on a reasonable discussion with William Buckley. Talking to William Kristol or Charles Krauthammer is a total wast of time and energy. I left out George Will as he is showing signs of senility. One does not even consider those two Murdoch hand puppets Limbaugh and Beck.
