You read that wrong, Rajoo. What whell said is that cops protect some of us so that we can sit in comfort and hate them for it. It's totally unambiguous. It's we, or at least some of us, who are the haters.

And furthermore, we hate them because they keep us safe. See, all the murders by police of people like Freddie Gray, Eric Garner, Walter Scott and countless others, well, they were just keeping you and me safe in the only way they could! How dare we hate them?
