A great song list, but the lo-fi recording sucks IMHO. I just don't get the notion of adding record pops and distortion when technology exists to do better. I only made it through two-thirds of the tracks before I became tired of the recording.

The album features covers of songs by some of Young's favorite writers, including Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen, plus two songs with White. Young told SPIN that the album was recorded at Third Man "in a 1940s recording booth. A phone booth. It's all acoustic with a harmonica inside a closed space, with one mic to vinyl. Directly to vinyl. It's a funky old machine, it sounds like Jimmy Rogers or something."
