I don't just think he can do it. I think he's killin' it.

What are these "things" he's doing that's "killing it", and why do they matter so much?

Well, when I came to that belief this was making the rounds:
https://www.3ccorp.net/2019/10/24/tr...omise-keeping/
Regarding why they matter so much, the answer to that question would produce a thousand rabbit trails so I'll pass.
I think Trump had to learn to adjust from being CEO to being president, but I think he did that one pretty well. I also like his completing the assignment of federal judges to be a big deal: https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/24/polit...son/index.html
And it is not lost on me that the left cheers as some low level judge stops his actions only to be overturned by higher courts and often the SCOTUS. No, he doesn't win every time, but he wins a lot - on things that I personally care about.
He simply gets things done. The track record is there. It's why he's so popular.

Applying Occams razor to the election results, I think he got it with spite, "owning" the libs and the "not-like us" previous potus, and judges.
Nothing else mattered.

Well, I will confess that the only thing that mattered to me was to kill Obamacare. That was pretty much accomplished with the end of the individual mandate, which made me happy. The rest is just icing on the cake. It's clear that he and I seem to have the same vision for the future and adherence to the constitution.
For me it is individual freedom first. But that includes the person that makes his living serving the public. i.e. If I want to set up a Women's only gym, I should be able to. Or blacks only or whites only. And let the market reward or punish me.
And I don't want to be fighting all the world's battles for them so I like that he is getting us out of some protracted conflicts in the ME. I'm surprised more on the left don't cheer that.

It's been said that the people (maybe not all) who support tRump do so because he hates the same people that they hate.

I can't speak for everyone that supports him, but for me it's not about hate at all. In fact, I submit that those that think hate is even in the equation are themselves projecting.
I really hate what the rioters are doing, but I also understand that most of them are kids and will grow up, like I did. The closest I can come to hating any person is about some elected officials like Pelosi or Schiff. But even then, I just see them like the rest of us - disobedient children on the playground.
Hate isn't in the equation for me and my circle o friends, other than to hate what some people are doing to our country. The better word would be "sad". Sad for our country that appears to be coming to an end. It wasn't perfect, but it was the best system on the planet. What replaces it will not be pretty. Read up on the french and russian revolutions, not to mention the rise of the Nazi party.
The wild card here, of course, is that half the counry is on the other side and well armed. So it might go differently here. I think it's coming, though, no matter who wins in November.

Or, that he does it to get the passionate support of the haters, as a demagogue does.

There are many many reasons mentioned by his supporters. Making money in the stock market, strong economy is one of the most common reason I have heard. The appointment of the right judges another. He is a strong leader seems to be yet another. Then their is the old favorite, he a successful businessman, just what we need to run the country.
Yes they are very passionate in the love for the man. Blindly or is it overlooking anything not conducent to the narrative wanting to envision. Making up excuses and conspiracies or what about this... Changing the narrative to suit the needs.
Sure there is some hate in the base. I feel that this also has many reasons in being a part. Some of it is not new just given an outlet with the consent of their leader.
Lost of a power and the overtaking by other groups in the electorate being one held dear.
I also believe there is a subconscious realization by the supporters in the knowing. That there is a significant portion of the populace not effected by this illusion of Trump. This then forces a questioning of their beliefs and thus makes them very angry. Determined to change the minds of the nonbelievers to justify theirs. By any means necessary. Also a cause of much torment and anger to then be vented onto others.

There are all types in every group supporting a politician, but not all groups do a lot of protesting, rioting, looting, tearing down statues, burning cars, spraying graffiti all over everything, fighting cops, etc.
One side likes to focus on election day or maybe have 'TEA party" events.
There are bad players in every group, but for some it's an MO, and pointing out the outliers in other groups does not make them all equal.
Trump is the first president in my recollection that did not hold political office before becoming president. It put some rough edges on his early presidency. Those edges have been smoothed. If he wins re-election he will have what Obama calls "flexibility". I expect a radical move in the direction he has been trying to pursue since day one.
And the first step will to meet force with force and finally shut down rioters and looters. The kid stuff will end. We'll see.

Another conservative wet dream about just killing the people they don't like.
Bet you loved the way the cops in Aurora shut down the rioters and looters. You know, the ones with the violins and cellos? You see that video?
