You're obviously drinking your own Kool Aid.

I suppose with the internet everything is kind of out there if you look, but it can be kind of traumatic to learn the inhumanity of man to their fellow men at a young age.

For what it's worth, I 100% understand the points made by CRT courses.
FWIW I think the teaching of the inhumanity of man to their fellow men can at least wait until secondary school. Unfortunately all the ballyhoo about CRT is just another tactic the GOP uses to rile up the base. When you don't have anything worthwhile to sell sometimes you have to resort to things like this. Sadly oftentimes it works.

I had access to very graphic stuff even in the old pre-internet days. Holocaust, and graphic war stuff, like a Japanese soldier being burned to death by a flame thrower in a series of photos. Certainly with pervasive access nowadays the school curricula should start early in touching upon such things, just to enable young ones to handle it a bit, give them some understanding and context, and encourage them to seek emotional comforting when needed.

As for racial violence, I'd be very careful. Some young boys would just take targeting cues from such stories. Boys are often aggressive and hateful, that's all there is to it. Some aren't, and most grow out of it, more or less, but there it is.

The way school-age boys often are is so 'normal' to us we don't take in how bad it is, most of the time, but it's pretty bad.

Not that I condone teaching graphic violent history to very young students, but, uh.... they see graphic violence on tv all the time. Sometimes the consistency in our values gets lost.

On this topic, here's a moving memoir from a Jewish person who did not know anything of the Holocaust until she came across an explicit book in a store, at age 12. She felt betrayed that her parents had kept such a big thing from her.
