Zeke, mine was a simple statement. Leads to a better discussion when we stay away from personal attacks.

DQ, a bil a year (and more!) can build some pretty nice infrastructure. Or it could buy some nice stuff and offshore accounts.

I think the success at missiles they target is somewhere between 90-95%. Most of these Qassam rockets are simply allowed to land undisturbed in uninhabited areas (which describes most of Israel south of Tel Aviv (other than Be'er Sheva and the 2 coastal towns of Ashdod and Ashkelon)). Once you go south of Be'er Sheva, it's a virtual moonscape with no development whatsoever other than some military bases out in the middle of the Negev desert and the small town of Mitzpe Ramon until you get to Eilat (way down on the Red Sea's Gulf of Aqaba).

My wife was very concerned about our son's safety the last time such troubles happened in 2012, a few months after his arrival there. Now that she visited there in November and seen Tel Aviv, his apartment, and his workplace, she's no longer worried about his safety (and she's a worry wart, like most moms). Even now, Tel Aviv is far safer than any major city in the US.

Well, Hamas wishes a similar fate for the Jews, and has stated so many times, but here you are defending them. What does that say about you?

Yet your friends in the White House have unilaterally decided that no one should be allowed to fly there.

You really have a penchant for trying to put words in other people's mouths don't you?
Criticism of Israel's tactics doesn't automatically translate into defense for Hamas now does it?

I'm glad your son isn't in danger!

Sadly I believe the last line is probably true.
