Successful businesman, successful politician, successful governor, successful President and CEO of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the 2002 Winter Olympics and Paralympics. Choose one or more. They're all Mitt Romney.

What's he up against? A mediocre community organizer, a junior senator, a successful choom gang member... a failed president.

I hope the choice is clear to more people than just myself.

I think we all hope that more people have a clearer view than you have.

You failed to mention failed senate candidate for Mitt.

One could just as easily argue that being a successful vulture capitalist is a negative qualification for being a political leader. Political decisions are generally more complicated than what's best for the bottom line.

Eisenhower, Nixon, Reagan, and Bush senior served as Republican Presidents without having business experience. Bush junior was a failed business man. Indeed, the only president this century who ran a successful business was Jimmy Carter. Are you going to hold him up as your example.

D-Ray

Back to the thread topic, it is amazing how Obama supporters have latched onto this Trump thing. I guess it's the talking points issued by the whitehouse the other day which is driving this feigned concern from liberals to this 'nothing' issue. Distraction afer distraction for them. The only strategy left with the record of mistakes Obama's got hanging over his head. What a joke. Here's John Sununu telling it like it is:

No. I'm not going to go to Jimmy Carter, I'm just going to point out that Mitt Romney's experience and accomplishments as governor of Massachusetts in the face of a huge dem majority in the Massachesetts legislature during his entire tenure easily dwarfs any claim that Obama had, or has even now after 3 years as POTUS, of being able to demonstrate successful governance in the face of challenges and adversity. Romney's qualifications quash Obama's in just about any turf you want to compete on... except may perfecting bong hits from the roof of a volkswagon van.

Quit listening to the bloviating liberal taking heads. They're morally ok with lying 100% of the time which makes their ranting a little hard for any objective and intelligent listener to swallow.

I'm afraid that my analysis came from my knowledge of history. In other words, I think for myself, thank you very much.

One bit of turf where the battle will be joined will be the debates. Mitt better do a huge job of lowering expectations, or he's going to come out of the debates looking like he got cut from the junior varsity debate team.

What Obama accomplished legislatively is amazing considering that he has been dealing with a Republican party that believes that compromise is a dirty word. Just ask Alan Simpson.

Another thing Obama will have on Romney is four years of experience in the toughest job in the world. During that experience he has seen 24 straight months of private sector job growth, eleven straight months of increased retail sales, and steadily decreasing unemployment. Oh yeah, Obama has created such a bad business atmosphere that we have seen record corporate profits.

Did I mention that Osama Bin Laden is dead and GM is alive.

D-Ray

From an article in the latest newsweek;

"When Bain owned Steel Dynamics, Romney and his investors took $37 million in taxpayer subsidies—a sweet deal when they only invested about half that amount themselves. Tad DeHaven of the libertarian Cato Institute told the Los Angeles Times, “This is corporate welfare, an example of the government stepping into the marketplace, picking winners and losers, providing profits to business owners, and leaving taxpayers stuck with the bill.”
Classic crony capitalism: privatize the gain, socialize the risk. When Romney drove GST Steel into bankruptcy, he and his partners made $12 million in profit and another $4.5 million in consulting fees. But Romney stuck the taxpayers with a $44 million tab for the company’s underfunded pensions."

Successful businessman my arse.

16.5 mil on a 18.5 mil investment? That's an amazing return, around 89%.
