She could never never wear fur or leather after that, even if she wanted to.

Besides Secretary of State is probably not defined by an 8 hour shift.
If it is salaried she may have had no set hours to account for; she could probably determine herself which hours were work and which were not.

Really? Congress folks are on the phone asking for contributions in return for political donations to their privately run "charitable" organizations? A charitable organization that appears to operate as a private slush fund? Hmm...do tell. Who are the congress people that are doing this every day? Who are the congress people that falsify their public records to hide participants at these meetings?

No, they don't. Under Title 18 of the US Code, Section 607 it's illegal for members of Congress or the executive branch to fundraise on government property.

I know that but the fact remains that what Robbin said is incorrect.

Read Robbin's response, ie: "Congress people do it every day." Any Congressperson who "does it every day" is breaking the law.
Whell brought it into the conversation by saying that it might be a problem if Congresspeople "conducted business" from their offices. Robbin disagreed. That makes him wrong.

That's really reaching, John. Good luck with that Whellian bit of tortured logic.
