How do you know it won't work? You clairvoyant? A friggin' time traveler? Was the old system working? It seems to me premiums were skyrocketing, every year I was being asked to pay more and more and more, employer getting desperate to find ways to cut cost because of it..............................
What do you suppose was waiting at the end of that rainbow? A Pot O' Gold? I'm thinking more like a Pot O' Shit.

Of course not, that's ridiculous. But, if the Tea Party is to be believed, it will and it will all be Obamas fault.
but seriously mess with 17% of the economy during a downturn, good?
That's the best time, Pete. During good times nobody pays much attention to economic matters.
And Bob, you're not?

No, Bob is not a Communist. Neither am I. But, sometimes I wonder what you have hiding in your closet.

The latest from the conservative echo chamber is that they have moved on from a shut down to wanting a "grand bargain" on the debt ceiling. The idea of defaulting on the full faith and credit of the U.S. (unconstitutional action) has been tried before with what can only be described as catastrophic consequences. A drop of almost 800 points of the DOW.

My guess is when this all started, and some polls were showing they had about 2/3 of the people against the ACA, they figured the country would support their lunacy. Now that they realize they have just alienated almost every rational person in the country, they are rethinking their strategies.

It seems about 40 House members were stupid enough to believe that Ted Cruz was the smartest guy in the room. In a room full of 'Baggers, they may have been right.
Meanwhile, Cruz is in a corner licking his wounds while Boehner tries to clean up his mess (while the 'Baggers still don't realize there's a mess to clean up). If the antics of these rabid, ignorant clowns weren't so destructive, I'd feel sorry for 'em. As it is, I'm pretty close to despising them.

I just wish the average person was aware enough to realize the games that get played and take it out on their elected officials at the following election. Most of the people I know either vote popular or incumbent and do little or no research at all.

Here's to hoping that cooler heads prevail well before Oct. 17th, Marc.
For some reason that epic scene in Blazing Saddles keeps popping into my head when I see Boehner flipping his wig. He keeps putting a gun to his own head. The best he can hope for is a lifeline from the Dems, methinks. It's really sad to see his career go up in flames primarily because Cruz doused him in kerosene, threw the match at him for his own machivelian benefit.

That is stupid logic...better to fold now than next week. They are going to fold.
Especially when the Federal Workers in the bagger districts start not to get paid.
There are many Federal Workers here in Cali who vote Republican......Issa and his fellow morons are going to get an earful real soon.

I believe in checks & balances. However, extortion is different from the checks & balances envisioned by the constitution. BTW, Obamacare was passed by both houses of Congress, signed by the President and upheld by the Supreme Court. Sounds like checks and balances to me.

Obama has to stand up against this or a dangerous precedent will be set.....
http://www.nytimes.com/2013/10/02/op...-at-stake.html
It is one thing to debate a law, another to threaten an economy because you do not agree with an existing statute.
You know the Congress complained about no Senate budget. Then they got one earlier this year.....and the Senate asked the House to put it to Conference no less than 18 times...and the House never came. After they shut down the government earlier this week THEN the House GOP leadership asks for a conference!!!!!!! and show a picture of 8 GOP Congressman looking at empty chairs like the Senate had never asked 18 times before. Total hypocracy.
