Sandy, makes me think of a time in a local home depot. Obvious that the customer and salesman knew each other so the customer say "Jack, I need a hoe" jack says "Will that be a blond ho or a brunette ho". I damn near choked.

Anyhow, have fun at your little party, (or not if you can't afford it). It'll be interesting to see what comes out of it. Especially with Sarah as the headliner.

Be great for all the farmers near Nashville, all that fertilizer just as spring is near.

Well, lessee now...Last time I got good 'n' "Likkered up" was prolly 1977 or '78, when I crawled in that big Gin Bottle, & didn't crawl out for 3-4 days...Felt worser than French-Fried Dammitt, resolved NEVER to get that way again. I'd guess that ALL the "Adult Beverages" I've consumed in the last 10 years would scarcely strain the capacity of a Big Gulp cup...And IF I had $5-600 in spare change burning a hole in my pocket, I can think of a Whole Bunch of things I'd rather be doing than listen to a bunch of Turkeys Gobble away. And, yeah, you can get the old "Fire Horse" up to go TO a thing like this, but nowadays, this ol' Rooster kinda runs outta steam early on, & Nashville's a long, long way to drive back from...Hell, Knoxville-at 65 miles distant-is somewhat of a stretch....And this time of year, the only thing you can count on about the weather is that you can't count on it. The Cumberland Plateau is about halfway there, if you have snow, ice, etc, it will be there. An' even youse Damyankees can't drive in ice & sleet, which is what we'll have down here...

I made that call already. Lived in Memphis for about a year and a half. Nashville was a nice city though, and I have friends in Knoxville who love it. But I could do without Memphis again for the rest of my life. I'd never actually seen people yelling racial slurs at each other in the streets before I moved there. And there are streets (almost all the ones named after Presidents, ironically) that you don't want to drive down at night.

I hope and pray they make a great third party out of the extreme right wing of the Republican party. It's about time the right get their own Ralph Nader to deal with. Not fair that us Democrats are having all the fun.
Not to mention, with the nut jobs out of the Republican party, they may have to reposition themselves as *actual* fiscally responsible members of government. That could actually be good to have around. Just let the Tea folk keep the "all taxes and regulation are bad" plank. Imagine someone with an (R) after their name saying "we need to get this done, and we're going to have to find a way to pay for it" instead of just saying "no". Oh, wait. I just described a Democrat.

Another thing about Memphis-Fuggeddabout for a minute that its gonna slide into the Mississippi one day, the people are racists & bigots, I-40 just STOPS & then picks up again on the other side of town somewhere, its HOT down there a good 10 months out of the year. In the summertime, it "cools off" to a mere 85 at night...No wonder the people there don't get along...

Well, lemme see. Memphis gave us Stax Records and Sun Records.
Then they gave us James Earl Ray.
On balance I think it'll be a pretty good day when Memphis disappears beneath the surface of Ol' Muddy.
