I was serving the USS Coral Sea-CV43 on the flight deck, when the Libyan "Navy" approached to repel us from the Line of Death in 1983.

You should have seen it. About five or six Vietnam era "River Boats" with machine guns mounted on their bows. They got close enough to see us, (And us to see them.), they stopped and sat there for about 3 minutes, turned around and left....................

I would doubt the position of just about any politician that does not have to make the actual decisions. It is a lot easier to talk tough when you are not the one making the decision to send troops into harms way.
