Basically there is a labor shortage. From the Chicks' linked article - post 10 - the labor force participation rate has dropped since prepandemic level and it further states that had the rate remained the same there would have been 2 million more people in the workforce.

This reasonable suggestion has been floated around for years. I don't know for sure, but, suspect that these businesses donate generously to the re election campaigns of congressmen who have not acted on implementing penalties for hiring and housing illegals.

Of course. Trump will blame anyone he can when or if it does not work out as planned.

More then likely in all accounting he will claim victory. Stating low number at the border, doctoring the information and statics reported.
A few show trials and news reports will be all it takes to convince his cult of his claims. We will still have them here and entering just no one will care as much now.

A setup for deportation is already in the works.
Texas offers 1,400-acre ranch to Trump to use as part of mass deportation plan

In West Texas, the state bought a 353,785-acre ranch that borders Big Bend National Park for an undisclosed price. Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham said in a statement there are a variety of leasing options for the land, including for hunting, agriculture, mineral and soil carbon sequestration, a process that stores carbon dioxide from the atmosphere in soil.

EL PASO, Texas – After years of Texas being the first stop for people illegally crossing the border, Lone Star State officials are volunteering to let President-elect Donald Trump use a state ranch as the last place immigrants set foot on American soil before being forcibly deported. On Tuesday, Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham offered Trump a 1,400-acre ranch near the border in South Texas to host a mass deportation facility. Buckingham bought the ranch earlier this year, she said, because the previous owner refused to let Texas build a border wall across it.

Of course, a 1.5 mile wall will be built.

Call me when you see white people picking strawberries and lettuce in 14 dollars a head.
Arkansas has dipped into offering this sort of "career opportunity" to 14 year olds working in chicken plants to enrich Tyson. Mass deportation might make these incredible "opportunities" available to more future MAGA kids.
Keep 'em stupid and aggrieved seems to work.
