I see a lot of white people who get entitlements under the guise of military retirement benefits...I am one myself. It is not thought of as an entitlement however. There are of course African Americans, Asians, Latinos and others who get these benefits also.
Plus the VA, despite the controversy around bad care, gives out money every month to disabled veterans, some with missing limbs, some with diabetes and high blood pressure who on the surface do not look "disabled." Most in this latter category, (sleep apnea is another big item the VA rates as a disability) would have had diabetes or high blood pressure if they had never joined the military.
I think who gets the entitlement determines whether it is an "entitlement" or not.
I am safe from Paul Ryan, but their are millions of taxpayers who pay for me that are not safe from his desire to cut the safety net. I just do not understand it myself.
