Munich is a great city and there are many things about life in Germany that are very easy to get used to. I don't think it's quite as nice as it once was (lots of eastern Europeans have moved there, bringing (some) crime that never existed before). It was virtually crime-free when I lived there. Moreover, it was nigh impossible to get a bad meal or any bad goods or services. Also, it was a very honest culture without people trying to rip you off at every turn. Hell, even buying a car there is a pleasant experience. Also, you could travel to many other countries with completely different cultures/cuisines/sights within hours.
Preliminary events tonight (some ice skating and snowboarding). Opening ceremony tomorrow night (I think).

I root for the USA, but generally am more interested in outstanding performances by anyone (but mostly us  ).

Wow the color and detail for the Olympics is awesome in HD and on my TV. The weather looks beautiful there sunny and clear.
