With a drum of 100 rounds even a .22 in the wrong hands is a formidable weapon.
True enough, but with only ~10% of the muzzle energy of an AR-15.

Yeah. I am tempted to get the 10/22 Charger pistol, but I'm out of room in the gun safe. And I don't need another, they're just part of my heritage, like DNA almost.

It is horrifying to see people kill children at random when they go off the deep end. I would personally go up against someone like that, if it happen near me and the police weren't on scene yet. Or coming any time soon, realizing that they sometimes shoot the 'hero' by accident when they arrive.

One never knows for sure what or how they will react when face to face with someone with a gun.

The one time I was faced down by a shoplifter with a pistol, as a security guard at Kmart in the 70's. Know if was over before I knew what happened. Tackled him and snapped his wrist and retrieved the pistol. No thought just instincts I guess, got in a bunch of trouble for this anyway....

A local PD Sargent told me back then, best to keep yours eyes down and mouth shut....

Now I don't pack as a rule. To many stories in the news of people pulling and flashing escalating to a killing here in the Derby City!

I'm not going to go thru my life afraid of my death. Don't want to happen yet know it will. Want a surprised look on my face when it does.

I don't see how you could have got in trouble for this, unless his face bounced more than four or twleve times.

Not that we need to know the whole truth. (my emotivecons are gone) that was a joke.

What we would have is Jordan screaming that his granchild would be alive if the classroom teacher had a permit and was carrying.

I got in trouble from Kmart for taking the actions against a purse snatcher pushing a lady down and running off. Said I should never go after just let them go.

Plus he was 16 and you know hurt by me, parents were pissed off! Had his Father's pistol!
Kid spent the night in jail then was released. Given a fine.
I never had to go to court.

Does being awash in guns suggest everything is going to be just dandy in the future? I have nagging doubts.

There was a lady Police Officer here, some years back, who shot a fourteen year old boy in the thigh. He was threatening his parents with a baseball bat, and when she arrived, he started swinging the bat at her. While they danced around she managed to fire one shot at his thigh on purpose, and hit her target. Nice shot, Lady ! He sure dropped the bat.

She seemed like a 'hero' to me, but most people around here just sort of cringed.

I didn't give it much of a thought. Reacted and it was over before I could think about what happened.

Caught $hit from my wife also.
