I don't normally

take shots at the opposition, but Reid is asking for this one.

http://thehill.com/blogs/floor-actio...al-reform-bill

I realize the only thing keeping the Post Office afloat is junk mail, and I imagine it helps to keep the garbageman busy hauling all of that shit to the dump as well.

But for this momo to suggest that seniors, or anyone for that matter, loves to receive junk mail is total insanity.

I actually do get important mail, and it's nothing but a pain in the ass to dig through all of that garbage in order to find it.

I'm all in favor of a post office, if they have to raise their rates, so be it. And if Opps or Fed Express can knock them off of their perch, so be that as well.

But don't insult my intelligence by telling me that I want that garbage delivered to me every day.

One garbageman is enough.

Chas

Maybe if they didn't give those bulk mail discounts for sending junk mail they would make more $ or perhaps there would be less junk mail sent.

Reid is a gutless moron IMHO. I gave up on him as soon as he killed the Yucca Mountain Project (something paid for by the nuclear utilities for decades now). He makes McConnell almost seem intelligent and reasonable.

As for the Post Office, First Class mail is still a bargain (relatively speaking) and postage rates should be raised to $.50 and Saturday delivery curtailed.

I still pay bills by mail. And, if it's a small package I'm shipping out, USPS is way more convenient to me as the post office is about three miles closer than the nearest UPS place.

But, yeah, suggesting that junk mail is my lifeline to humanity is bizarre at best. I never even read the crap, it goes directly into the circular file.

I almost had it down to a small stack a day until my father in law decided to sign us up for some magazine offer. I wish there was a national do not send me your mindless advertising list that I could sign up for.

Corporate welfare is how I see all of that crap sent to me unsolicited at dirt cheap bulk rates. Can't even burn it anymore, the Air Quality Management folks took away my burn barrel.

But some junk mail is fun. When I was clerking in the fed court, I had a subscription to Frederik's of Hollywood sent to my co-clerk - addressed to him at the courthouse. The second time it arrived, the judge picked up the mail and personally delivered the catalog to Jeff. He never figured out who was the culprit until I told him about ten years later.

Regards,

D-Ray

Here in VA too. One day my neighbor tells me;
"F*** that. We burn all of the time, anyways. Nothin' ever comes of it."

So, one night I went out to the barrel with a bunch of wood scraps and cardboard, a six pack and a lawn chair. Lit it off and popped a cold one.

The cops were in my yard ten minutes later. Made me get the garden hose, then stood there and watched me put it out. Told me; "From here on out we call the fire department. That way, you get a bill for their time and a fine. No more. Got it?"

Crazy part is, I can legally burn wood in my outdoor woodstove all I want, and fire pits are still legal......so long as it was bought in a store, or professionally installed......................
