Spam is still a highly revered foodstuff in Hawaii of all places. It's available as a plate lunch special at nearly every diner in the islands.

Several years ago a fellow who worked for me opened up a can of Spam during lunch. The smell would knock a buzzard off of a shit wagon.

And we were outside at the time.
