Sure they are. How many cases regarding gun control, religion, states rights, and such must the Leftys lose before you understand?

Problem is that "God's Laws" are interpreted through human eyes. Ever seen some of the effects you can provide with a polarizing lens?

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;. . ."

So tell me, has the government outlawed the Church of Rome? Have they forbidden church attendance by Roman Catholics?

Would you like to try for a remedial reading class?

BTW what you quoted was a decision by the Robert's Court, hardly a bastion of impartiality.

Dave,

All man made religion is bull shit. but our Constitution GUARANTIES all of the PEOPLE certain RIGHTS. Among them are LIFE, LIBERTY and THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS, And then there are the Amendments, and they are for ALL THE PEOPLE, not just YOU or ME, BUT EVERY AMERICAN.

So to deny any American of their personal rights, denies every American of their Personal rights. Today we kick the Catholic Church in the balls, and tomorrow they kick YOU in the balls. Ounce this starts, there is no end to what Government can do.

It's not just a church thing, it's a Constitutional Matter, a Matter of the Law of America. Each little chip that is made in Our Constitution erodes the rest of our Guaranties and rights.

In this regard he framed a now famous quotation that is often presented in a corrupted form. Niemoller himself however lived through the events associated with the Nazi seizure of absolute power and knew which groups had been persecuted by the Nazis and also knew the order in which those groups had come particularly under persecution.

First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out--
because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out--
because I was not a socialist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out--
because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out--
because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me--
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Dj, go back and read post 14. This is not an amendment issue. It is a funding issue.

Will you folks kindly unwad your knickers, no violation of the Constitution has taken place, repeat no none nada.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; . . ."

The Roman Catholic church has been neither annointed nor outlawed. No religious group has been told they cannot attend church.

Since English is my mother tongue let me explain - "free exercise" means simply that they are free to practice their religion. It does not mean they are free to shove it down everyone else's throat.
