My old man liked him, even met him once when he visited the plant where Pop worked. And Pop was a union guy. But, Iacocca didn't go after the workers exclusively, he went after the idiots in the ivory tower as well. Pop respected that.
And so do I.

More and more I am convinced that the virulent opposition to President Obama is racist to the core. "Socialist" is GOP code for "black".
O'Neal is a racist pig who should be drummed out of office...then publicly shunned.

Oh Gee, I wondered why there was that "virulent" opposition to Bush, or Clinton, or Bush, or Reagan, or Carter....The racist GOP claim is getting a bit stale. All Presidents get criticized and IMNSHO that sort of comes with the job. Do you think that Obama's race ought shield him from criticism? Keep in mind what Reid and Clinton initially said wrt Obama's race.

I don't at all think that all, or even most of the criticism about Obama/disagreement with him is based on his race. On the other hand, one would be ignoring reality to not recognize that the attitudes of some toward him are skewed or intensified by his race. Those for whom this was true in 2008 likely harbor similar attitudes in 2012. To identify a reality that exists now and has existed for quite sometime is not to make a stale criticism.
Regards,
D-Ray

+1.
And the fact that prominent GOP candidates have taken to frequently associating the words "black" or "african-american" with "welfare". As if only blacks draw funds from any type of public assistance?
I think that with time and the emboldening nature of cheering crowds the GOP will be more inclined to show their true nature. And ultimately, decent people will have no use for what they see.

Hey Blue,
Keep that avatar for awhile. It does my heart good to see a smiling dog when I see one of your posts. And God knows I see enough of your posts.

I like it too. It's now my avatar here and everywhere else, except AK. And I might put it there as well.
