To abandon what I believe in for the current GOP dogma would cut me deeply enough to strike the soul.

It is a purely personal belief - but to suggest that I should be ashamed of my world view is to suggest that I abandon my core being.

I'm also not going to suggest that you have a foot in heaven, Painter. You need to hang around here and keep the boys on course.

Don't want to burst your bubble, but have you ever considered that the Democrats are full of shit too???

Didn't I say I would rather have a Labor Party?

I wouldn't do insurance defense for a living.

I wouldn't represent management against unions.

For that matter, I won't take on meritless discrimination cases just to extort a nuisance value settlement. (I will cherry-pick the good cases though)

I wouldn't work in advertising.

That doesn't say that the people who do so are evil. To engage in those practices would be contrary to who I am and inconsistent with my core values. The values espoused by the GOP, particularly those that elevate profit to the highest moral plane, are alien to my own. I know that the Dems are far from perfect, and that the party fails to live up to my expectations, but the party often comes close. On the other hand, there is an impassable chasm between my beliefs and those championed by the Teapublicans.

I have no say over anyone's soul but mine. If I've been listening to the angel on the wrong shoulder, I expect to find out some day.

Regards,

D-Ray

I considered it, but realized they're only half full. Republicans are completely full. They used to be 3/4 full, but the Tea Hatters filled them up all the way. Though I'm not sure it's all shit. I think the Tea Hatters might have used fruit cake.

"And I'll take you off my ignore list. Just, maybe, take it easy a little bit with the "Obama's an incompetent idiot moron with big ears who single handedly overthrew Tunisia and his wife has a big ass" business for a day or two."

Didn't you just get finished saying this but now your right back at it?

I was hoping at least one foot was in heaven...rather then the alternative counselor..
I have always judged a person (man/woman) by who they are and the values they hold as human beings. Now... this is whether I am going into a voting booth or inviting someone to dinner or extending my hand in friendship (I have few friends and many acquaintances).
So to MY way of thinking...I cannot belong to any specific political party. But...can exercise my conscience when I enter the voting booth or whether to return a call on the answering machine.

No one can fault someone for following their heart..."to thine ownself be true."

Yup.

Michelle is smokin' hot, amazonian, incredibly bright, Obama's backbone, and the idea that she is racist is lunacy: unless you call pointing out the self-evident data that whitey has had it in for minorities for centuries as "being racist."

I mean, come on, it happened.

Smokin' hot? I would never disparage her physical appearance, but isn't that a wee bit of an exaggeration?
