Do you really think that is the argument against the war in Iraq, Pete. You know better than that. No one here would have a problem with the people of Iraq acting to rid themselves of a dictator. It is considerably different to tell the people that we are going to invade their country depose such dictator whether they ask for it or not. The action against Iraq didn't become "Operation Iraqi Freedom" until it was clear that we would not find WMD.

Where are the American boots on the ground in Tunisia, Egypt, or even in Libya? When did we invade any of those countries and impose democracy?

Regards,

D-Ray

Sadam played a role in our foreign policy. It's like we were talking about it the other thread. It's hard to be behind what we did in Iraq, with as long as it's taken, what we were able to do and how much it cost, when you look at the problems it caused. It's just like the concern in Egypt, Tunisia and Libya- will we get something better or worse? No one can honestly say Iraq, for all the effort, lives and expense, looks any more likely to work out well for us than any of the others. At least the way we did Libya, it seems likely that there are some folks over there who maybe (maybe?) appreciate us at least a little for helping out.

You must have missed it D-Ray (wish I had). No boots thought. Dress shoes. Obama himself whipped up the masses in Tunisia and Egypt. I got it from a very reliable source, so I believe it even though I can't corroborate it anywhere. Libya he had to show his hand later, but the whole, so called, uprising was his work. There was no uprising. That's just what his operative George Soros told the media to report. It's all perfectly reasonable political argument backed up by facts. You just aren't privy to those facts.

Silly liberal.

I respectfully disagree.

KG & Ed were engaged in an ongoing argument, Ed had lost his temper, & KG made a somewhat snide remark. There was plenty of emotion present beforehand.

As far as I'm concerned, you took her comments out of context, then used them to create a straw man and then offered a personal insult by referring to her as a troll.

IMHO, both you and Ed have done her a disservice.

Finn, you're a prick, but you managed to come through this with your honor intact!!!

You hung tough, but I never noticed you going personal...an admirable trait.

I realize we're a cliquish lot, and you have to grab the new aspirants by the short hairs just to get their attention...but there ARE limits.

Might I suggest that a couple of PM's might be in order?

Come on, she's a lady whether you agree with her or not...aint' like you're dealing with DJ!!!

I've said my piece,

Chas

You have the admirable ability to see both sides of a situation. And for that I applaud you
Some feel if your opinion isn't theirs...its wrong and the pit bull is launched.
Eh...human nature to some degree...but ruins the learning process. Because IMO when thats done...it shuts down communication....which is the purpose of the act in the first place.

One of the biggest problems on posting, e-mails or texts and the likes, is you can and do say things that would never dare be said face to face.

Also people can become their alter ego, someone they wish to be but are unable to in the real world.

Everyone in entitled to their opinions, no one person will have all the answers. The problem is some think they do and will not listen to other ideas.

Chas, Painter, I do respect both of your views, but I respectfully disagree. What I observed was an obvious intent to draw emotional responses, and not just from Ed, and not just from one post. Trolling is a description of behavior, and that is the behavior I observed. My opinion is no more valuable than anyone else's, but in this instance nothing from the replay booth has convinced me that the call on the field was incorrect.

Regards,

D-Ray

Let's assume that you're correct.

As the old saying goes, "Treat a man (or woman) with respect, and they will try to earn it."

Maybe KG came on a little strong, and wasn't one to back down easily.

But that doesn't make her one dimensional, does it?

All I'm saying is cut the girl some slack. I'll bet that once you got to know her, you'd probably like her.

Hell, she can't be any worse than me.

Chas

Damn Ed,

Valium and Provigil don't mix that well.

You're losing even me...and I've been to the city limits of Ixtlan more than once.
