The Republicans are in big trouble!
Lately there is a drumbeat on almost evey channel in the NY/NJ pleading with Gov. Christie to run for president. This indicates to me that the repubs are in big trouble.
After Perry's poor debate performance the repubs are in a frenzy to find someone to beat Romney for the nomination.

Because they know Obama is poised to use "Masscare" as a powerful weapon against him.
It was just another thing on the long (and growing) list of Republican ideas that the administration adopted that was later attacked as "socialist" by the right. Christie is the only viable (potential) candidate left that doesn't have this baggage, AFAIK. What gets me is the level of desperation. I know it's tough out there, but I suspect that part of the problem is this hysteria itself. They are still so filled with dread over having a liberal Democrat in the Whitehouse that they are paralyzed with it. Obsessed nothing more than getting rid of him.
What was that FDR said? "....all we have to fear is fear itself."
Hmmmm.....

I'm not sure Romney is the kinda guy the RNC can control. That is probably their biggest fear. I'm sure even the RNC and the like of folks like Pete will be out screaming in the streets how Salt Lake City will be calling the shots (much like the Vatican was gonna with Kennedy) just to make sure he does not even get close.
Shame as he's one of the few from the right with the business and social sense this country could use.

It appears Romney is the only viable candidate, but he is the "father" of Obamacare. This has hardcore conservatives in knots.

Finding yourself awash in a sea of liars, lunatics and wolves without a true superhero in sight, are ya?
Welcome to the real world, Dave.

It's way too early to tell. The machinations of the media means little at this point. Go back to 2007 and look where Obama was relative to Hilliary. That is also a good lesson in how wrong so-called pundits often are. That said, I'm not particularly enthralled by either side. What will be fun is watching both sides trying to appeal to the independents without provoking anger from their base.

You mean the tea baggers has made it extremely difficult to select a reasonable candidate.
