I hate the left! They are as close to Nazis as any group of thugs this country has ever seen. In the end, if they want to grow government to enslave and plunder me, they must be eliminated in one way or another.
Do to this and the fact that this boards majority are of said vermin, It is what it is as far as civility..."Take No Prisoners".

And so you are planning to move to Canada and Socialized Medicine? You are in for one heck of an awakening dj, folks up there believe in the social contract and in maintaining their infrastructure and that takes $$$ (taxes).

Half my family Mr. expert on everything live in Canada. WTF, I think you're the one in for LOTS of surprises. Also, they are changing everything in the UK if you haven't noticed which you probably haven't. The Canadian corporate tax rate is LOWER than here!
Also, I never said I was going to move there.
You better come to grips with the reality that your world is about to make a huge change. You REALLY seem to be in denial.
Grow up and get rid of this "Nanny State" mentality. This country will go bankrupt and if you think we are going to pay more or even the current amount of taxes to keep you happy, you might want to think again.
By the way, that property in not my only one up there. Guess what, I'm getting some good deals because the Crown Lands are being sold. What is that?...it's privatizing.

In case you didn't hear Harper lost a vote of confidence yesterday and I doubt the Refrorm party is going to win the elections in May, so there may be changes. All 41 families with my surname live up in the GWN and they are either direct family or cousins at some remove. So I am kept abreast of what's going on up there.

In case you haven't heard... http://www.canadabusinesstax.com/cor...ome-tax-rates/
I'm wondering how invested are you in Canada? My day job involves over 1 BILLION $ a year in revenue up there.
That plus my personal holdings keep me well informed.
Your problem is you know nothing about economics and base everything on politics...winning, losing, it's just a game to you. You don't give a rat's ass what's good for a nation...only keeping your tired out hippy ways alive no matter how twisted they are.

Coming from you laddie that's a compliment. I am very interested in what is good for Canada (and the U.S. of A. as well). I note their dollar is now at $1.0365 U.S. at least that's what I got the last time. So I guess Stephen has not totally screwed things up, but his bunch of Republican wannabees are on their way out.
I definitely have a vested interest in their well being since that is where my pension comes from.
Lets see, for a economic newbie I have a paid for 2800 sq. ft. home sittiing on 4.47 prime acres, his and her Impala LSs (also paid for). We eat very well and don't owe anyone a nickle. Guess I stumbled into all of this by accident.

I.B.D. column:
Conservatives Will Win Again Because Canada's Economy is Strong
According to Roger Conrad, editor of the market-beating Canadian Edge investment service, the Conservatives are likely to win another plurality in early elections: “The bottom line is neither the Liberals nor any other party has a realistic chance of winning power.”
The reason to expect another Conservative victory is clear: the Canadian economy is doing extremely well under Prime Minister Harper’s leadership. Unlike most of the world, the Canadian economy is enjoying an enviable combination of low inflation and growth. Just last week, Statistics Canada reported that core inflation in February was only 0.9%, the lowest level since the government started keeping records in 1984! As one economist put it:
While the rest of the world seems to be grappling with rising inflation pressures, Canada is going in the opposite direction – both headline and core inflation have eased since the start of the year.
At the same time, the government has upped its forecast for economic growth in 2011 from 2.5% to 2.9%. Wells Fargo Securities praises Canada’s economy, saying it is one of the best in the world right now:
While Canada did endure a recession, the fallout was not as bad as other large, developed economies. The peak-to-trough decline in Canadian real GDP was 3.3 percent, not as severe as the more than 4 percent decline in the United States and a far cry from the 6.4 percent decline in the United Kingdom. The Canadian economy also bounced back quickly. While many developed economies are still in recovery (which is to say that GDP has yet to return to pre-recession levels), total output in Canada crested above its pre-recession peak in the second quarter of 2010 and has been in expansion territory ever since.
There are a number of explanatory factors that can shed some light on the relative outperformance of [Canada] including a less-leveraged consumer and rapid implementation of government stimulus programs. Still, the attribute that perhaps goes the furthest toward explaining the difference is that Canada is rich in natural resources and exports of raw materials are important. The fast pace of growth in developing economies over the past few years, especially in China, has increased demand for raw materials and that has helped boost economic growth in Canada.
Clearly, Canada is the place to invest right now.
