As the worm turns....

And turn it did.

Here in Ohio, the last Governor, Ted Strickland, lost the election. The new Governor, John Kasich, is going nuts with new ideas, trying to both balance the budget (8 bil in the hole!) and make Ohio into something not resembling a has-been state.

As I watched some of the budget proceedings (not really paying attention) I got to thinking. Back when Strickland was first elected, the papers were saying the GOP here was working with him because he was such a rising star, so good, that they wanted to help him upwards - to get rid of him.

Then kablooie the economy went south. Not his fault. But, all he did was defend the status quo and use everything from one time money to smoke and mirrors to keep from cutting the budget.

Not very excellent of him.

It turns out, he's a good wonk. Interestingly though right now, across the land, it's the left that is the institutional party. Fighting tooth and nail - to keep things the same.

The GOP has become the party of change.

Just an observation

Pete

Hope you enjoy paying higher taxes (fees) so the wealthy don't have to.
Don't believe it?
Watch what happens.

No. The new congress did. Whatever shortfalls occur due to the maintenance of the "Bush" tax cuts will be made up by us little people in the end. Watch.

Besides, I was referring to the state level anyways.

I think, unless the GOP runs someone truly awful, Obamas gonna be a one term Pres.

The trouble is (for the GOP) is that nearly everyone in the running meets that qualification.

The trouble is, for the Dems, I believe far too many people have been convinced that Obama is far worse than he really is. And because of this, the GOP could run Satan and he would win. Horns, cloven hooves, pitch fork and all.

And that's all that matters to the adamantly myopic, isn't it?
