Considering several things it is a bloody wonder that the public sector functions at all'
1, Thee SCOTUS legalized bribery many years ago (lobbying).
2. That same august body recently legalized anonymous politicing $$$$.
3. The system of political appointees doewn to the SES level.
4. Gerrymandering practiced on a wholesale level.
Despite all that it was not the public sector that put the economy in the toilet, it was the FUBAR private sector catering to human greed.

But what we ignore is the "governmetn" does what we tell them to. We say they don't, but they do. We say they don't when "the other side" gets to decide something. Then we say "they're not listening to the people!" Well, yeah they are, they're just listening to other people.
And right now, the people are saying "cut spending but not anything I want". And it's not working out so well. In big part that's because it benefits the tools who want power to lie to them. So they get all charged up about some guy and he tells them what they want to hear "your taxes are too high because 'they' are wasting it!" He doesn't mention that they're wasting it on stuff you want. He says "look how much PBS is costing! None of you watch educational television! Why do you have to pay for it!?" He leaves out the part where it doesn't add up to shit and won't change anything. It fires up the people and they vote and say "yeah! it's 'their' fault!"
But, really, it's our fault.

Don't small and medium sized businesses eventually become "big business"?
"A big businessman is what a small businessman would be if the government got off of his back."---Saint Ronnie the Perfect.
Anyways, I can, to some degree with your statement. But, do you really think it wise to give them their way with everything, ostensibly because "they" are the center of our universe?. To my mind such lionization eventually leads to abuses, usually the same abuses that led to existing regulation in the first place. Around and around we go................

You are confusing anti-business with anti-greed.

Hard to promote freedom by being anti-people. Unregulated pro-business Wall Street types sure did a bang up job growing the economy just a couple of years ago.

What's say we stop and differentiate between the Lizzards of Wall, the banking cartels, the insurance companies, their hip pocket politicians who feed them with our money, and the poor slobs who are out there making the widgets which creates the wealth which supports all of the crooked bastards. Along with us.
I've noticed that the host and the leech appear to be synthesis in this forum.
