Putting aside causation, any attempt at assasination of a legislator is at it's root, a violent action taken against the government. The new speaker made the point that when someone attacks one in the house, he attacks all. Second amendment purists assert that guns must be readily available to protect the people from the government. Therefore, someone going on a shooting spree, beginning with a point blank shot to the head of a congressperson is showing what it looks like to take arms against the government - i.e., a second amendment solution.

Regards,

D-Ray

Where in these two sentences did I assert causation? I simply said that in the future, this event should result in people who speak of 2nd Amendment solutions to be shunned now that we've seen what one would look like.

Whell, get a grip. Thou doth protest too much.

Pot/Kettle. I've been actually, I think, pretty apolitical on this subject, other than to point out the hypocrisy of all this, and to question the seemliness of the left using this as a vehicle to advance agenda items. It doesn't take "indoctrination" to call a spade a spade and observe that there's no evidence that the shooter was ever influenced by any politician, news network, etc., as some have claimed.

Maybe I've missed it, but I've yet to read a post where you take on those who continue the "blame the right", "blame Fox News" crowd. In fact, I believe you've maintained that they've "contributed to the problem" of what happened in Tuscon. I've even posted a link to a Bernie Sanders email where he uses the occasion to fund raise. I've yet to see a single negative comment about it.

Looked like causation to me. If that wasn't the intent, so be it. Retracted.

The intent of my wording is to say that the causation argument is behind us. However, future users of 2nd Amendment rhetoric should be universally shunned/ridiculed now that we know what it would look like in real life.

I'm trying brother. Yeah, I'm sure I still jump to some conclusions, but I'm really trying.
