I heard an interesting story on NPR last night. A songwriter, who is responsible for much of the drivel that makes it to the top of the charts, talked about listening to the 1940s station on Sirrius as his favorite station. Made him sound pretty mercenary to me - listening to Count Basie, Etta James and Frank Sinatra, but writing songs for Katie Perry. He know what sells.
